There are a lot of crazy things I have to deal with here. Raging mutants. Rabid flying chipmunks. Bob’s terrible jokes. At the same time there’s a lot of good stuff here too. Here is why I’m thankful in this godforsaken hellscape.
Tingles, Jingles, and Mingles
Despite the daily challenges of living life in a post apocalyptic world, there are still many things I’m thankful for.
I’m thankful for murgle slime because it makes my body tingle, although I don’t know why. I also don’t know how to make it stop. I’m also pretty sure the fact that my legs sometimes start walking without me thinking about it is unrelated.
I’m thankful for the songs we all sing, although it would be cool if we could come up with words other than “brains”. It would also be cool if we could sing.
I’m also thankful that me and my friends get together so often as we find shelter from scorpion-tailed horses. Or rabid gophers. Or flying squids. Or raging mutants. We are so blessed to have so many reasons to get together. It’s one of many reasons why I’m thankful in this godforsaken hellscape, but there’s one reason that really sticks out.
A New Reason to Be Thankful
I’m happy that I have a new reason to be thankful. Ever since our worlds became interconnected, I’ve really enjoyed being able to share ideas, thoughts, and inspirations with you. It’s given me a sense of purpose instead of feeling like just another zombie.
In fact, as Zombie Goals is ramping up to help people in your world be motivated by people in our world, it’s given a lot of us a sense of purpose. Not to reiterate the lyrics from our band’s debut album, but we used to live without purpose. I’m thankful that’s changed. It’s one of the biggest reasons why I’m thankful in this godforsaken hellscape.
I guess what I’m saying is that I’m thankful for you. If I can give you something to think about, I hope you realize how blessed you are in your less godforsaken world. Even if you find yourself struggling for purpose, it’s not that it doesn’t exist. It just means you haven’t found it yet. After all, your dreams aren’t dead; they’re just resting.
Find out what you’re thankful for, and you may find your purpose where you least expect it.
